Broncbusters compete in Corky Classic

Lubbock, KS-Garden City competed in their first event of the season at the Corky Classic on the campus of Texas Tech University.
Clyde King paced the Broncbusters with a seventh-place finish in the 200-meter dash. He was the highest Junior-College placer, coming in at 21.97 seconds. He was right behind Texas El Paso's Kyle Farrell. His teammates Jabrionne Bacon and Aaron McGriff were 11th and 12th respectively.
In the 300 meters, Jae Southerland was fourth, crossing the finish line with a time of 41.14 seconds, and Brett Oden took seventh in the shot put.
"We are a few inches and seconds away from more than of our kids qualifying for nationals," Head Coach Jimmy Joseph said.
The Broncbusters back in action on Friday at Pittsburg State in the Rumble in the Jungle.
