Rogers spectacular at National Outdoor Meet
Hutchinson, KS-The Broncbuster men competed in the 2017 National Outdoor track meet at Hutchinson Community College.
Denim Rogers was definitely the highlight of the meet, taking home fifth place in the decathlon, an event that he had never done before prior to his freshman season. He ended up with a personal best time in every event, and he did it despite bad weather.
"I am extremely proud of the way Denim competed," Associate Track Coach Doug Marshall said. "We are excited to see what he can do next year."
Rogers completed his well-rounded weekend by taking 6th in the 1500-meters, 4th in the 110-meter hurdles, 2nd in the high jump, 6th in the pole vault, 8th in the long jump, 12th in the shot put, 5th in the discus, 5th in the javelin, 4th in the 100-meter dash, 8th in the 400-meters, 6th in the 1500-meters and the 4th in the 110-meter hurdles.
Other placers included Jonathan Challenger, who took home 11th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.48. James Liburd was 17th in the 200 meters and 22nd in the 400 meters.
