Great Bend, KS-Garden City's conference woes continued on Monday afternoon.
Lucas Alves, who scored twice in their matchup with Garden City last week, found the net and Boris Nana Tonzi put home a rebound in the second half to give Barton County a 2-1 victory.
"It's been our problem all season-not being able to finish," Head Coach Charles Long said. "We played our best game of the year, but didn't finish."
With the loss, Garden City dropped to 9-8 overall and 1-6 in the Jayhawk. Barton County improved to 8-3 overall and 4-3 in the conference.
The Broncbusters took the early lead when Felipe Andrade scored off a corner kick seven minutes into the contest.
Alves got the equalizer moments later, scoring his fourth goal in the last six matches to tie the game 1-1.
The score stayed that way until early in the second half when Tonzi put home a rebound in the box, coming off a corner kick for a 2-1 advantage.
"We need to beat Dodge now," Long said in regards to his team's playoff chances. "That's a must."
