Bay signs with Abilene Christian
Garden City, KS-Shattuck, Oklahoma is home to one of the best eight-man football programs in America. During a stretch from 2002-2009, the Indians won 94 straight games, obliterating their opponents by more than 40 points per contest.
What many people don't realize is that this tiny Western-Oklahoma town is also home to some of the best athletes in the Sooner State. And it just so happens that one of them landed at Garden City.
After a stellar career with the Broncbusters, Sophomore golfer Jake Bay officially announcing that he's signed a national letter of intent to continue his collegiate career at Abilene Christian University.
During his freshman campaign, Bay had two top-10 finishes, placing 10th at both the High Country Shootout in Ruidoso, NM and the District Preview in Gothenburg, NE. In the Spring, Bay took fifth at the New Mexico Military Invitational and was runner up at the Jayhawk No. 2 at Auburn Hills.
But none of this should come as a surprise. At Shattuck, he won three tournaments his senior season, including regionals, where he emphatically punched his ticket to the state meet. There, he came in third, capping off an incredible final season which culminated in an all-state selection.
At Abilene Christian, Bay will play for veteran coach Tom Shaw.
