Finnegan wins No. 400
Garden City, KS-When Chris Finnegan took over the Broncbuster baseball program 12 years ago, 400 wins was a pipe dream.
That's no longer the case. Finnegan is now a proven winner, and the numbers speak for themselves.
Garden City completed a four-game sweep of Western Nebraska on Saturday. With their victory Friday over the Cougars, Finnegan notched that elusive 400th-career win.
"It's definitely a honor," Finnegan said. "I've had a lot of good coaches and players over the years that have helped make this possible."
Finnegan has brought consistency back to the Broncbuster program. His teams have won 40 games four times including a 45-17 mark in 2016 that saw them reach the final four of Region VI. It tied the 2009 squad for most wins under Finnegan. He's won at least 30 games in eight of his 12 seasons and led his squad to two Jayhawk West titles in 2012and 2009. He was named the Jayhawk West Coach of the Year in 2009 and 2013.
Finnegan's career record stands at 402 wins and 209 losses, a winning percentage of .658.
