Roswell, NM-In Game I Kyle Lopez led Garden City to an 11-1 Victory over New Mexico Miliatary Institute. Lopez went 2-4 with a single, double, scored two runs, an tallied 3 RbI's.
Garden City jumped ahead in the third inning scoring five runs taking a 5-0 lead into the fourth inning. A pair of RBI doubles by Aeneas Roberson and Brooks Benson and an RBI single by Kyle Lopez gave Garden City 3-0 lead.
A CJ Kraiock 2 RBI triple capped the scoring for the inning giving Garden City a 5-0 edge. Noah Draper faced three batters in the home inning of the fourth with a ground out, strikeout and a fly out ending the inning
The Busters picked up two more runs in the top of the sixth highlighted by an Alex Nielsen 2 RBI triple giving Garden City a 7-0 edge. In the top of the seventh a 2 RBI double by Lopez followed by an RBI single by Patrick Mixon pushed the score to 10-0. Mixon scored the last run of the day on and E6 ending the scoring for Garden City.
Broncbuster Pitcher Noah Draper went the distance for Garden City. Draper again made short work in the bottom of the seventh as he recorded two stikeouts and a line drive out. Draper finished the day with 8 strikeouts and gave up two earned runs. Draper has recorded two wins for the season.
In game II a seventh inning a two out RBI double by Brooks Benson was enough to give Garden City 1-0 victory. Aeneas Roberson hit a two out single then stole second to put the Busters in scoring position as Benson's double scored Roberson for the only run of th game.
Conner Burns went seven innings to earn the win giving up six hits. Day two of the series continues tomorrow at noon CST. Game two will begin at 4:00 PM CST.
