Broncbusters win series finale to take the four game series
Brendan Peitsmeyer goes seven scoreless
Garden City, KS – Brendan Peitsmeyer earned his third win of the season going seven scoreless in the Broncbusters 10-0 victory over Indian Hills in game two of Saturday's doubleheader. Peitsmeyer was spectacular in a much needed performance for the Buster's pitching staff, who worked twenty-six innings in twenty-four hours prior to game four of the series. He only allowed four baserunners on two hits and two walks. His three wins are a KJCCC league best.
The Broncbusters offense was effective early in game four of the four game set against the Falcons. The lead-off batter reached base safely in the first five innings, and manufactured a way to score him four times.
The Broncbusters led 5-0 entering the bottom of the seventh. The offense brought nine Busters to the plate in the seventh as they run-ruled the Falcons 10-0. Brooks Benson's walk-off sacrifice fly to centerfield was the final blow. They plated five runs on three hits, two walks, and a hit batter to complete the five-run inning.
Aeneas Roberson led the offense going 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBI's. Mason Brown added two hits and two RBI's to finish his day, and Alex Nielsen provided a RBI double and scored twice.
The Broncbusters won the series 3-1 and move to 10-1 on the year.
They will travel to La Junta, CO next Wednesday to take on Otero Junior College in a nine-inning affair.
