Draper tosses complete game no-hitter
Broncbusters win game one of doubleheader against Western Nebraska
Garden City, KS – West Texas commit, Noah Draper, tossed a five inning no-hitter on 53 pitches. A four pitch walk to Brandon Bachar in the top of the third was the only Western Nebraska Cougar to reach base safely in game one of the doubleheader. Draper stuck out seven as the Broncbusters put up ten runs to end the game in the fifth inning due to run-rule.
Aeneas Roberson led the offensive attack going 2 for 3 with a double and three RBI's. He led the game off with a leadoff walk, and advanced two bases on a passed ball. Mason Brown, sophomore catcher, drove him in with a single through the left side. The Broncbusters brought twelve to the plate in the second as they put up seven runs. The bottom of the lineup continued to set the table for the top half, as Roberson's two-run double got the scoring started. Jesse Gonzales provided a RBI with a single through the six-hole, and Patrick Mixon ended the scoring campaign with a two-run single to left-center field. Mixon was 3 for 3 with a double and two RBI's.
