Busters Defeat Hutch in Last Two Games of Series to End Regular Season
Busters Will Hit Road in Region VI Playoffs
Garden City, KS-Garden City scored nine runs in the fourth inning after trailing 6-0 to win game three 10-9 snapping a five game skid. The win helps keep the Busters alive in contention to host a home game Region VI Playoff.
Ted Ramirez led the Busters with three hits, one run and two RBI's. Kyle Lopez hit a three run double in the bottom of the fourth to propel the Busters to their 28th win of the year and their 16th win in Jayhawk Play.
In game two Garden City added to their 5-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh scoring six runs and went on to defeat Hutchinson 12-9. The Busters finished the game with 23 hits to Hutchinson's 10. Francisco Alvarez and Ted Ramirez led the Busters combining for nine of the twenty three hits.
Alvarez tallied four hits, three runs and one RBI. Ramirez had five hits, one run and three RBI's.
The Busters finished in a three way tie for third place in the Jayhawk West with Butler County and Hutchinson. Seward County finished first followed by Dodge City. The Busters will be the five seed in the Jayhawk West and it is likely they will travel to Coffeyville for first round of the Region VI Playoffs.
Finnegan's Club finishes regular season play at 29-25 and finish 17-15 in the West.
