Busters Drop Two at #16 Iowa Western
Coucil Bluffs, IA-Garden City dropped game one to the Reivers 13-3 on Tuesday and defeated the 16th ranked Reivers on Wednesday 00-00. Francisco Alvarez led the Busters going 2-4 at the dish and 3 RBI's. Shortstop Ryan Merrill led the Reivers going 2-3, scoring 1 run and contributing 3 RBI's.
In game two Garden City grabbed its first lead of the game in the top of the eighth before losing 4-3 in the bottom of the ninth. In the top of the eighth a Kyle Lopez Double drove in Kadin Hydrick who reached base on a walk and Ted Ramirez who reached base on an error.
In the bottom of the eighth Jordan Getzelman single and later scored off an RBI single by Devin Stuek to tie the game at three.
In the top of the ninth things looked good for Garden City as Easton Palmer led off with a double but relief pitcher Sam Donko struck out the next three batters to end the vistor inning. The Reviers would later score on a sac bunt by Matt Hoeg scoring Logan Keifer who singled.
Garden City returns to league play this Saturday when they host Cloud County. Saturday's double header begins at 3:00 PM
